Welcome to Marrowforums
At Marrowforums, patients and their families, friends, and caregivers assist and support each other through discussion and sharing. The diseases are rare, but the patients and those who care about them are not alone!

The first line of defense against bone marrow failure diseases is medical care — the hospitals, doctors, nurses, specialists, and other professionals who diagnose, treat, and monitor patients. Beyond that, there are many day-to-day concerns that patients and their families face, and they can learn much from other patients and families to help them cope with illness and be well-informed participants in their own care. The personal discussions at Marrowforums facilitate this person-to-person support.
Bone Marrow Failure Diseases
AA, MDS, and PNH are potentially life-threatening diseases in which the bone marrow fails to produce functioning blood cells in proper quantities.
- Aplastic Anemia (AA) - a disease in which the bone marrow fails to produce sufficient numbers of blood cells
- Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) - group of related disorders in which the bone marrow produces few functioning blood cells
- Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH) - a disease in which the bone marrow produces red blood cells with a defective protective layer, resulting in the destruction of red blood cells
